The small town of Tambor, situated on Whale Bay (Bahia Ballena), was featured in season 2 of the Fox reality series, Temptation Island, in 2001. (The season was not a success so not as many people learned of Tambor as you might think.) The small fishing village of Tambor is located adjacent to the horseshoe-shaped Bahia Ballena (Whale Bay). There are two ways to get there – taking a small plane from San Jose to Tambor Airport (where you will land on a runway surrounded by greenery) or driving from San Jose to Puntarenas and then taking a ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya – which is actually a quite popular way of getting to the town. Real estate in Tambor Costa Rica is found in the town’s four regions: Panica, Tango Mar, Vainilla, and Florida. People come to Tambor to go sailing, or fishing, as well as scuba diving.

Real Estate in Tambor Costa Rica

When people arrive in Costa Rica, they typically do so by flying into the capital city of San Josè, a huge city of some 200,000 people – full of congestion and pollution and everything you’ll find in a large city everywhere in the world. But if you want to drive from San Josè to Tambor, you’ll find the roads not crowded at all. It’s also not that far of a drive – though it will take you longer than the 20-40 minutes it takes you by plane, since for one thing you’ll have to take a ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya to get there. Tambor Costa Rica properties are nestled in greenery which make them very attractive, and the entire area is simply awash in natural beauty.
